Jeff and I are moving into a house. I can't believe it. We are soooo excited. Today was inspection day, where we walked around the premises over and over with "Scott, the inspection guy". He was in fact very thorough much to our liking. We found that there were only a few details that the sellers would have to fix. Isnt that how it works? So March 30 is the closing date, where Jeff and I will start our lives as Home Owner's and enter the real responsible world. There are so many things that i want to do to the house, i lose sleep thinking about them all.

-hardwood floors in living room, dining room and kitchen,
-paint sterile white walls, rainbow colors,
-tile both bathrooms to include a retro sexy vibe
-destroy old deck and build new one with hottub,
-plant gardens and grass,
-install central air so Jeff doesnt keel over from Mold
-etc. etc etc.

I had a great night tonight. After all the hustle bustle and important things were taken care of, i went to Essentiels Spa to get a facial and a makeover. I loved it! I felt like a princess as the beautician waved his brushed in strokes onto my face. A little powder here, a little blush here, some evening sparkle and a day and evening wear shadow. Techniques that i had never seen and words I have never heard but i came out looking just fabulous.

So I may be a bit premature, but i have already started paroosing for wedding dresses. My idea of a wedding dress DOES NOT contain lace, a long train, sequence, glitter of any sort, a head tacky head band, any provacative cuts revealing cellulite or cottage cheese areas, satin, silk or anything that will stick to my body like static, bows or frilly measures of any type, slippers, or beads.....yes this should be a fun search.

However, since i do not put myself in a "sexy" "delicate" classification group, any of the above would therefore be tremendously unfitting and might uncompliment such unflattering areas that i wish to hide.

I have limited my search to a A-line dress, strapless or spaghetti straps. I have come to terms with the fact that certain cuts hide certain areas, so i will stick to those thatflatter my curves. I am not a wedding dress shopper nor expert, so if any of you have any ideas, that would be greatly appreicated.

The search is on, will keep you posted on my findings.....

I am soo glad that i do not have a gambling problem. Tonight Jeff and i decided to take a trip to Blackhawk, the gambling reservation in las montanas.... just for soemthing new, a change of scenary. I didnt have beginners luck whatsoever, within thirty minutes, i lost $40.00 and i was only playing the $.25 slot machines. The old ladies sitting next to me take up the four machines at a time as they launch a virgina slim and leave it dangling from their mouths without even flinching from the smoking exhaustion. With each bet they exhale; a nasty gust of smoke lands right in your face, building a nice fog lense over your eyes. It's attractive!!

After all, I decided that not being a gambler is a good quality, it is brain crack, but was fun for a moment.

I found the perfect remedy to block out Jeff's snoring and for my "hard to get to sleep" nights.

This stuff is incredible and although it's homeopathic, it's 27% alcohol....Brandy! So I'm wondering if that's why i may be sleeping easier? Go figure.

My Introduction with the Saturn Return???

I have just braised into this idea after a few glasses of wine with a girlfriend...Now as i understand it, this happens from age 28-30, I will be 28 in 4 months...can the Saturn Returns blossom early or is it impossible due to astrological brillance?

So i think that the media needs to lay off James Frey a bit and stop making the "lies" in his book such a big deal. You know people bought the book thought it was great and now the poor guy wont' ever right another one. People dont care, they loved the book, they get the idea. One thing about moving to a new place is that you can't take everything, you can take all your clothing, all your possessions, your pictures but you can't take your friends. Taking the big step of moving on your own if certainly life achivieing meaning, i gain all my independence, get the feeling back that i can do everything by myself and that i can do it alone! However, the term only stands for so long when you realize that you have to make new friends, find a new job and learn all over again, the things that you have built and established for years. It's like leaving college, or leaving the school you have grown up in. New beginnings are great, but they always leave a void. I find myself these days missing the old times, what i had in college, what i had after college and now, i say, i have moved to grow up a little more, maybe learn new things ab0ut myself.....but somehow these are things that i still miss...

-drunkenness that leads you with half a brain and no memory
-brazilian waxes that burn for days
-showing up at work still dressed in clothes from the night before
-throwing up on the subway and sweating out the night before vodka tonics
the "pee your pants" type of laughter
-the smell of bar sludge marintated into your clothes for weeks

Happy New Year!!

It was actually nice to wake up without a raging hangover this morning, although i surely missed falling all over myself and having those feelings of regret for opening my mouth in fear of all the stupid things i might have said.

Our night started by a drive to Estes Park where we drove in an extremely windy high elevation canyon. Jeff hit the biggest deer in the ass that i have ever seen. Can you believe that??? 1. We did not kill the deer!! 2. We did not hurt my car! 3. There was no blood to be seen anywhere! I imagine that the deer probably had a rough start to the New Year but rest assured; we turned the car around to look for him and he was no one where to be found! We took a big look at my car, only to find a few stray hairs stuck in the radiator, no major dings! Yes, we are terrible Boulderites for hitting a deer, but i swear we really tried to avoid it!

After all the excitements and Jeff's tenseness; we proceeded through the canyon to Beautiful Estes Park, where we met up with some friends at a tiny Italian restaurant and forgot about the injured deer. It was fabulous and low key with some of the best canoli's ever! I never thought i would appreciate the idea of not getting completely intoxicated.

A new woman in a new suit.....

I had my first day at the new firm, and i couldnt be happier. The attorney's and support staff walk around with smiles on their faces, all eager to answer my first question and do whatever they can to make me feel welcome. They even typed up a memo indicating that they were VERY EXCITED to have me.

My day started at 8am with a tour by Maggie through each office and supply closet. "Help yourself to all the pop you want, and any of these office supplies and if you need something that we dont have, let us know we'll get it right away". Maggie said.
Gee I am royalty at this new place. Free pop and unlimited office supplies! What more could a girl ask for?

I set myself up at my new computer and began plugging my user name and information in to our "new system". i have already discovered then i know more than i thought, and i that i am in fact and "intelligent" person.

Step 1: A New solution:

So i went to naturopathic physician with a little encouragement from my cute earthy boulder friend who has transformed into a new woman because of it. I figured, ah, what the heck....there's got to be some remedy to cure my recent insomnia, my unhealthy cheese diet and my lack of motivation and energy. Atavan & green tea can't be a solution for everything, i have realized. So i ventured into the clinic yesterday and met with Dr. Kelly, a nice crunchy lady who is a big fan of reggae and Vermont, unbeknownest to me at the time...but i have decided that this is why i picked her. So, we talked for a couple hours, discussing my body inside and out, some things more comfortable to dicuss than others. I left with a basket full of "natural" supplements and a new diet plan......No dairy and No grains!! EEEKKK. This is everything i eat...well almost. So i have been eating almonds and meat for two days straight. Thank god this if for only two weeks, where i will check back with her and start step 2.

Oh where, oh where can my new coat be.....

I decided that i am in need of a new winter coat, something that is not snow bunny-ish, but something classy, something i can wear to court, or to a buisness meeting or even to a dinner party. So i began my surfing at Nordstrom online and i cant decide what to pick. I think this may require shopping around, this process drives me crazy cause it's like shopping for a car. And if you know me, then patience is not my virtue. Any thoughts on some places to search would help reduce my stress in this process..........

I am in sunny Florida enjoying my thanksgiving in 80 degree weather. Today we went to the beach, the weather has been absolutely perfect. I couldnt ask for a better spontaneous vacation. Free dinners, free lodging and free alochol. What more could one ask for? Tomorrow i am headed back to the Rockies, so sad. I will need a day to re-coop from my sun burn.

So i had my second interview last night with the law firm 10 minutes from my abode. I walked in a little more casual then the first interview, in fear that one piece of my clothing might look familar to the "potentially new boss girl". So I sat in the uncomfortable client chair until she so eagerly greeted me. I sparked right up with a hand shake...it's so weird when a girl younger than you gives you a hearty handshake and in the next sentence, says "how do you feel about someone younger than you telling you what to do". Well i must say this was mentioned with all kindness and sincerity.....i agreed that it would be absoltuely no problem. She showed me around the office, and introduced me to all the professionals. I popped my head in each office and gave them all a friendly smile "nice to meet you, nice to meet you".

The boss lady insisted that we go to Starbucks to get out of the "confined work environment". i knew this was just a personality test, but deep inside i knew I had already passed it. As long as i didnt order to most expensive thing on the menu, my chances of making it big were 100 to 0. So she so nicely offered to pay, and i swear i am not high maintenence but i ordered what i always order and becuase it was 6pm, i order decaf: "can i have a soy vanilla latte, with sugar free vanilla and can you make that decaf please" I apologized to the barista for being difficult and Miss Boss lady informed me that she had seen worse. "Great, she dragged me to Starbucks to see if i was really deep down a pain in the ass" . Well our conversation went as planned, i raised my concerns about being a potential employee, we talked about the East coast, criminal law, public defenders and most importantly our love lives. What better way to end a conversation then to discuss something you are ever so comfortable and experienced in.

After our conversation ended, i felt like i had a new friend.....as it turned out, I had a new job too! This is the next phase of my new life......Horray for moi!

So i guess maybe I am lucky that i didnt put my body through the torment that this kid did when he went to Vegoose. But i asked my self, "is this what i looked like in college in public"? "did everyone see the same thing i see". Maybe experience is the only indicator that this kid has no idea what he is doing or where he is going. Hey, if you like live music and it's dark, then no one will notice. However, I also notice, there is a bit of trouble with trying to get the other flip-flop to slide on. So i've got an interview tomorrow, i am ecstatic!

I decided that no matter what happens, if i wear a really low cut shirt and a super padded brazier, i am sure to get the job! There's nothing that an old disgruntled attorney would want more than a little excitement at the end of his day. So even if i prance into the firm and wipe out the magazine rack, due to my lack of practice in my new stilletos, it's no problem! I got the job! We all need a big ego boost before a big interview, whose to say that showing off your bodacious busts isnt a good solution to making it BIG???

Yelllowstone is one of the most amazing places i've been too. I have never seen a bubbling substance that was soo hot that if i accidentally stepped off the trail, my foot would slowly disintegrate and my body would shortly follow.

It's true, tourists being the curious people that they are often bend over to take a close-up picture and get swollowed up in what they "dont believe" to be dangerously hot thermal lava. Yes, can we just say, "Dangerous, do not step off the path to take pictures"!

Working for pompous assholes, makes life extremely ridiculous and real. When you sit at your desk and start to question your intelligence.....in the minds of a "fucka": "God that girl just doesnt get it, I mean what is she thinking, pacha?" I sit there shrinking smaller and smaller until i can no longer see myself, but of course they can still see me! If i could just push the "smart" button and show how smart i really am....maybe, just maybe, i would get invited to luncheons, get parking in the VIP zone and prop myself in a nice leather chair with my name on the back. Ah, wishful thinking! I am not a member of the "club" right or wrong, i am not seen as a princess is the eyes of these men.

Since its getting chilly, i think we could all afford to invest in some hand crafted knits. This is the greatest idea, I can't believe i didnt think of it myself. Check out Alison's page, she's soo crafty. I think before it gets burr-i-fic, i might need to slap on a good ole chantilly rose poncho with rhinestone buttons. I'll be the hottest thing in Boulder.

Need a New Scent

So I'm running to the bear end of my favorite perfume. Stella and i have been tight for almost a year now, and i absolutely love it. However, the funny thing about perfume is that you smell it for the first couple weeks you wear it and then after that you cant find the smell to save your life. I need a new fragrance for the winter season, something that lasts a little longer but not any type of flowery taste to it. Any suggestions?

I drank too much wine last night. I woke up this morning with a piercing headache that prevented me from going back to sleep. It's funny when you go to a birthday party and the average age of the people are mid 50's, boy, am i old folk?

Anyways, i'm off to the pumpkin patch, i have been waiting for this day for two weeks. i cant wait to pick out a pumpkin.

So I am contemplative about what I should do this weekend. Jeff and I never have a list of things to chose from. I mean, we aren't losers, but we just kinda do our own thing regardless of whatever else is going on. So it almost makes me feel good. When I lived back East, I always had an option and the choices were relatively intriguing....Get drunk in the village, get drunk at home and dance, go to DUMBO, drink wine and play cranium........Sleep in and skip work....cause no one will notice. So I am left to decide whether the birthday party or another outing is more desirable???
